- Service Instructions for Therm-Control, type DHB 330 FPower controller for Eltrace heating tape
Function
Therm-Control is an electronic device for adjusting Eltrace heating tape.
Power Regulator
The maintained temperature required at the heating tape can be chosen, and therefore the surface area of the pipes, within a range of 35 to 59°C (Hb 60), 35 to 72°C (Hb 70) and 35 to 58°C (Hb 55) (factory adjustment Hb 60, 59°C).
Disinfection
Once each week for 6 hours, it may be necessary to set the heating tape to maximum temperature. The day of the week is set on the switching clock at the "disinfection" level. Disinfection will then begin automatically on night service changeover.
Switching clock
The clock integrated into the regulator makes it possible to interrupt the operation of the heating tape once every 24 hours. If this function is not used, leave the setting on 00.00, both for starting and stopping times. The clock has an operating capability of 12 h.
Starting current limiter
The consumption of current by heating tape depends essentially on the surface temperature of the pipe and on ambient temperature. When the tapes are cold, in order not to draw excessively on the network, DHB 330, for a maximum of 8 minutes after each startup, limits the quantity of current consumed. Adjustment is then free.

The performance of al the connecting and maintenance works will be entrusted exclusively to an authorized electrician. Before working on live equipment, be sure to connect the power outlet from the mains. Connection to mains by terminals L1, N and by grounding.Heating tape across terminals NN, LL and ground.
Display
The display shows setpoint values and effective values while LEDs indicate the functions to which they refer.

By pressing the "set" button longer, the displayed time will change quickly. Recording of program setpoint valuesPress simultaneously on the "mode" and "set" buttons until the display indicates (---).If none of the buttons is pressed for a period of 3 min., the programming mode will be abandoned automatically and no value will be recorded! Modification of setpoint valuesSee "Programming of setpoint values" above. Operating testsTo perform these tests, it is possible to manual start or stop the heating tape. Press the "set" button for 2 seconds. The heating tape is then activated. The indicator light displays tESt. The LED $ flashes during the time the starting current limiter is operating. Then the LED $ remains on. By pressing the "set" button again, the heating tape is deactivated/activated. When manual mode is not canceled, the system itself, after 15 minutes, returns to the normal programmed mode. Operating guarantee / Civil responsibility Eltrace declines any responsibility in the event of heating tape from other origins being used.
